These days, we’re in the middle of the AI hype. Countless start-ups promise heaven on earth: once their AI is deployed, superhuman abilities will be unlocked, engineers will become obsolete, and NOCs will run themselves, dark and silent, without issues.
A realistic perspective
At 1Optic, we’re too down-to-earth to believe in that. We don’t see AI as a magical solution that will solve every problem or make engineers redundant. In reality, we’ve seen many costly “AI-powered” automation projects fail, millions spent on fancy dashboards and supposedly actionable insights that rarely deliver lasting value. We don’t promise heaven. What we offer is a solid, robust data foundation with valuable AI integrations.
AI in TripAiku
Last year, we began integrating AI (LLM/RAG) into our TripAiku solution. Our goal is to help telecom engineers resolve issues faster by enriching their troubleshooting process with additional context. By doing this, we aim to provide more detailed root-cause analyses, supported by relevant data and context.
Data sovereignty first
The data driving these capabilities (mainly PM, FM, and TripAiku smart ticket data) is always handled in a controlled environment, never processed in the public cloud or on infrastructure owned by large cloud providers. Our AI-powered solutions are cloud-agnostic and come without vendor lock-in.
Our main principles remain clear:
- Data stays in controlled environments
- AI-generated insights must add value, otherwise, they are not shown
- Modular design with room for improvement and integration of new data sources via MCP
